 The National Debt Do you realize that our country is over 10 trillion dollars in debt and is paying over 460 billion dollars a year in interest alone? That means our country has gone into debt $32,000 for every citizen of the United States. In other words, in order to pay off the debt this year, each citizen of the United States would have to come up with $32,000. What are your thoughts on this? | I have no idea what to think of it except that I wish I knew how to prepare my kids to deal w/ the consequences of this. I'm not quite sure how this is going to affect us - mainly because I don't have time to watch the news or read the paper - and so I really just have no clue how serious our situation is. BS, would you mind weighing in on this? |
