OOOOoooops. I think I put this in the wrong forum. Should it have gone in Book Club, General Information instead of Book Reviews?

Well, I'm replying here, so if it gets moved, oh well.

Dia, thank you thank you thank you for getting this book to me.

I read it all in one short sitting and I LOVED it. I will have to get myself a copy. I feel like she is me in so many ways!!

I'm not very good at reviewing books, because I have a hard time condensing the entire book into a few paragraphs- I just can't do it. BUT I will say, this is a fantastic little book, and I think even men would benefit from reading it.

Even men? What do we need to learn about ourselves that we don't already know?

We're normally pretty selfish, we think about 1 thing at a time (multi-tasking is out of the question), can't read minds, can't remember half of what we hear -- even if we're supposed to. Oh, and we.. uhm never mind

I'm guessing it probably give some insight into the female mind... that wouldn't be so bad... Now if only I could read...

BS, the book isn't about the female psyche. I think men would benefit from it because in the end it's a little book about our relationship with our Savior. There is stuff that women specifically will understand in the first half of the book, but anyone can benefit from her wisdom about the Lord and achieving balance in our lives. That's what I meant...

Ahh... I finally have a minute to comment on the book. I laughed so hard in the first chapter on matching socks. I could so relate and laughed so hard. Anyone with a big family life mine knows the agony of matching socks.

This book was a great reminder on balancing our life, but more importantly remembering what is most important in our life. It amazes how many reminders in my life that I have needed to just get back to the basics in my life and everything else will work itself out. As life goes on I find myself slowly walking away from the basic areas I need in my life, such as regular scripture study and more heart felt prayers with God.

I find myself starting to take on the world by myself and question everything that I do.

Dia I am glad I had your copy. It was nice to pay special attention to the highlighted areas as well as the extra notes that were added.

And the area of the book that I needed the most was the Chapter titled Finding the Brick. It gave great suggestions on shifting your focus in your relationship to truly focus your thoughts to the positive things about your partner. I could just see the light of Christ shining in on Marriages when both partners put their focus on the positive areas of their life together.

Also I read a great reminder that I needed was to trust that the Lord knows what he is doing with my life. I constantly question my path in life. Should I be working? Should I be going to school? Should I just stay home? I need to quit questioning so much about my life and have more faith and trust in the Lord.

LnF, I'm so glad you got so much out of it. I wish I could go by a hundred copies and give one to everyone I know. Feel free to keep it as long as you need. I'm going to put some more on hold from the library. This might be worth doing a book club meeting, face to face.

I have a hard time with book reviews, too, because I'm not a conscise person when it comes to expressing my thoughts.

But can I just say how much I loved the part about 'reversing our buts'? Wow! What an easy thing to do, and what a difference it makes. And I love the title of the method/practice. Tooooo funny!
