Movie: Emma Smith: My Story

This was a good movie: enjoyable, heartrending, tear-jerking, educational, enlightening. I would have liked to know more about more of the trials that she went through. I felt like they glossed over the whole plural marriage thing and the escape out of Missouri AND the prophet's death, but they did cover quite a bit. You just have to cry inside for how many children she bore and lost. But I loved how they portrayed her as forgiving and wise and loving and still looking toward her eternal marriage to Joseph.

I learned something that really helped me and I wish now that I'd written it down, but toward the end of the movie the older Emma tells her daughter about how she isn't strong all by herself; that strength comes from daily asking the Lord for it and from renewing ones strength on a daily basis. That really humbled me and made me think.

On the whole, this was a good movie and well done and enjoyable. I can recommend it.

I have been meaning to see this movie FOREVER! I have got to go get it. I have heard great reviews from quite a few people. It sounds wonderful, and I have such a soft spot in my heart for Emma, already.

She really was an incredible woman.
