Kriss and I watched this movie tonight, and it was much better than I expected. When my dad and sister recommended it, I said, "Kirk Cameron- really?" (Let me interject that I had a poster of him on my wall when I was young- I was a fan, but I wasn't sure whether he really was a decent actor or not)

Here is what I thought: Cameron totally carries this movie- and he does a fantastic job. He stands out- he was very good, very believable and gave an excellent performance. That can't be said of everyone in the movie, and some of the writing seemed... amateurish, and there was a saccharine quality to a few characters that was a little over-the-top, but I still really enjoyed the film.

I loved watching Cameron's character evolve and change into a better man- I appreciated the message a lot. It was inspirational and (shocker) I cried through quite a bit of it. I would recommend it to anyone- especially married anyones.

I feel inspired to take more responsibility for my marriage-- as in, realizing that love is an action, not just a feeling. One line in the movie that I appreciated was something like, "Don't follow your heart, because your heart can be misled, LEAD your heart." I like the idea of making the choice to be in love with your spouse.

Anyway, I do recommend this film. Hope you get a chance to see it. I'm pretty sure it's at dvd rental places right now- it's a recent release.

And for pete's sake, it doesn't matter how long I've been on this site, I can't put a picture here. I just can't do it. I need the process simplified, like attachments!! I was going to put the picture from the movie cover, but it just isn't going to happen.

Here is a link to the website though: [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Heehee. Kirk Cameron...hubba-hubba....

My sister and I had a poster, too. How funny. The movie sounds interesting. I love to watch shows that make you FEEL, and think and want to be better in general. I'll have to put it on my list.

I heard about this movie on Oprah or was it Dr. Phil. I remember thinking it was one I wanted to see, but it never came to a movie theater near me, so I forgot about it.

Where did you get a hold of it? In other words, where can I get a copy? I think my DH and I better watch this before we try to go camping together this summer and while we are trying to make decisions on finishing the basement.

Ok, nevermind, I found it on redbox. We will certainly have to get this next time. I must have missed it before, because we are usually looking for a movie for the family. We will have to make this one a date night movie, for sure.

I heard about the movie a few months back and was interested in seeing it. I'm glad to see it is worth the watch. Thanks for the review, BW.

One more note: it's a clean movie, too, which I SO appreciate, it does have some intense fire-fighter scenes, and it's about their marriage so I don't think it's for the whole family, but it wouldn't be offensive if kids walked it or anything- I love when they make a movie for adults that is PG...
